Once again, Serena Williams has proven that she is the best female tennis player in the world.
Serena swept through her competition in the round-robin stage before squeaking her way past Li Na in the finals 2-5, 6-3, 6-0.
The win gave her an incredible 11 titles for the year. This is the second straight title for Serena at the year-end championships and her fourth overall. She won 78 matches – 20 more than she won in any previous season, and lost only four times. And at 32 years old, she shows no signs of slowing down.
In an interview she said, “Every tournament I play, I play to win. Not that I didn’t do that before, but it was just different. I was just at a different place in my life, and more than anything I enjoy playing tennis. I love being out there. Right now, I can’t imagine my life without a tennis racquet in my hand.”
