Our cutie pie, Anna Chakvetadze of Russia, is seen here getting treatment during her semi-final match against Marion Bartoli of France on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008. It looks like she needs a back rub. If I stretched that far like that, I think my hamstrings would rip in half.

She recovered from her injury and defeated Bartoli 2-6, 6-2, 6-0. On Sunday in the final match, she defeated Agnes Szavay of Hungary, 6-3 2-6 6-2 for the championship.

This win moved Anna up one in the world rankings to # 6. She jumped ahead of Venus Williams of the United States who didn’t play in this tournament. Congratulations, cutie!

# 1 Seed – Anna Chakvetadze

One of our featured cutie pies, Anna Chakvetadze, is the # 1 seed in the 2008 WTA Tour Open Gaz de France currently in progress. Anna made it to the semifinals where she defeated Marion Bartoli, the 3rd seed today 2-6, 6-2, 6-0. Way to go cutie pie!

Now that’s what I’m talking about! I think this is the # 1 reason to watch Women’s tennis – the scenery!

This is how Maria Sharapova looks from the backside view after a serve. Doesn’t she have a great serve! I think this is one of the best serves I have seen. I could watch serves like that all day. This is one time an “endzone” seat would pay off.

Skirt or headband? Titiana Golovin

This is Tatiana Golovin of France playing against Jelena Jankovic at the Sydney International Jan 8, 2008. With her hair braided this way, she looks like someone you might find in the Swiss Alps.

My question is this: is that is a skirt or headband she’s wearing around her waist? Either way, I like it.

Tatiana is currently ranked 12th in the world. She lost to Aravane Rezai , also of France, in the 2nd round of the Australian Open in January.

Here is Anna Chakvetadze resting during a break in her women’s singles match against compatriot Maria Kirilenko at the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melborne on January 19, 2008. She is another of the Russian cuties and is currently ranked 7th in the world.

Anna lost this 3rd round match to Kirilenko 7-6, 1-6, 2-6.
