Ana Ivanovic drops to # 3
Sexy, Serbian tennis cutie pie, Ana Ivanovic, has dropped to # 3 on the world rankings as of 9/8/08. She had been ranked # 1 the previous week.
Getting beat in the second round of the U.S. Open hurt Ana Ivanovic’s ranking. The world # 1 should not be defeated by someone like Julie Coin of France who was ranked 188th in the world, a qualifier who was playing in her first ever Grand Slam event, and first event on the WTA Tour. No top seeded women’s player had ever lost this early in the U.S. Open.
Elena Dementieva bows out in the Semfinal
Fifth seeded Russian tennis cutie pie, Elena Dementieva, has been beaten out of the 2008 U.S. Open in the Semifinal match by 2nd seeded Jelena Jankovic of Serbia.
It was a straight sets loss, 4-6, 4-6 for Elena Dementieva. Jankovic proved to be too tough in that match, as Dementieva just couldn’t pull it together enough to get the job done.
Ana Ivanovic sexy with a mustache!
Sexy Serbian tennis cutie pie, Ana Ivanovic, looks cute and sexy even with a mustache! She looks like she is inviting someone to lick the milk mustache off of her lip.
Ana Ivanovic has joined other celebrities in the “got milk?” advertising campaign which promotes drinking milk and its health benefits. Ivanovic says in the ad: “Power Serve. I give it my all, so milk’s the perfect match for me. Milk is a great choice after exercise, with protein to help build muscle and a unique mix of nutrients to refuel. So train hard and drink lowfat or fat free milk. That’s what I call a nice return”. The ad was created to encourage teens to drink three glasses of lowfat or fat free milk every day, be active and eat right to stay lean and healthy.
Elena Dementieva advances to Semifinals
Tennis star and cutie pie, Elena Dementieva, of Russia, continues to cruise through her matches at the 2008 U.S. Open. Her latest assault was on 15th ranked Patty Schnyder, of Switzerland.
Elena Dementieva is not being kind at all to her opponents. She has yet to drop a set, including her last match against Snyder which she won 6-2, 6-3.
Dementieva’s opponent in the Semifinal match will be # 2 ranked Jelena Jankovic. This will be the real test for the 6th ranked Dementieva. Jankovic has struggled a little, having to pull out two 3-set matches. If Dementieva is on her game, I think she will have the upper edge.
Patty Schnyder out in Quarterfinals
Tennis cutie pie, Patty Schnyder, from Switzerland has been beaten out of the U.S. Open in the Quarterfinals. Her opponent, another featured cutie pie, Elena Dementieva, from Russia, easily won the match in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
This was a much better showing for Patty Schnyder, than at the last Grand Slam at Wimbledon where she was beaten out in the 1st round. Schnyder had not made the Quarterfinals at the U.S. Open since 1998. However, the 29-year old 15th ranked Schnyder was just no match for 6th ranked 26 year-old Dementieva.
It was a good run, Patty. Keep on trying!
Playboy cover girl, Ashley Harkleroad – pregnant?
Tennis cutie pie, Ashley Harkleroad, is perhaps more famous for her August Playboy cover girl image than for her tennis skills right now. But Playboy and tennis may soon take a back seat to a new development in Ashley Harkleroad’s life. According to her agent, Sam Duvall, Harkleroad pulled out of the US Open because she is pregnant.
Harkleroad pulled out of the US Open before the draw with what was at first reported as back problems. But now the truth comes out, she is pregnant. Harkleroad, who is 23 years-old, lives in Los Angles with her finance, former tennis pro Charles Adams.
Elena Dementieva cruises into Quarterfinals
Russian tennis cutie pie, Elena Dementieva, has cruised into the Quarterfinals of the 2008 U.S. Open. She has yet to drop a set through four rounds. Her last three opponents have been able to win only 15 games combined. That’s playing great tennis!
Elena Dementieva’s lastest victim was 36th ranked Na Li of China. It was a straight sets win, 6-4, 6-1.
Elena will now run up against another featured cutie pie, 15th ranked Patty Schnyder, of Switzerland. Patty has played two tough 3-setters in her last two matches, so she could be worn out, or she could be match tough. It should be a great match.
Patty Schnyder is into the Quarterfinals
Swiss tennis cutie pie, Patty Schnyder, has qualified for the Quarterfinals of the 2008 U.S. Open tennis tournament. Her latest conquest is Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia in a tough 3-setter 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Patty Schnyder is ranked 15th in the world and Srebotnik is # 28. That made a great match up and a close contest. Patty’s last two matches have been tough 3-setters, but she has been up to the task.
Patty’s next opponent is another featured cutie pie, Elena Dementieva, of Russia. Dementieva is ranked # 5 in the world and has yet to drop a set through four rounds. This should be a really tough match for both players.
Caroline Wozniacki exits in 4th round
Caroline Wozniacki, tennis cutie pie from Denmark, made a good run in the U.S. Open. But unfortunately her run has been stopped in round 4 by # 2 ranked Jelena Jankovic.
The 18 year-old Caroline Wozniacki had not dropped a set through the first three rounds. But Jankovic proved to be too tough for her, winning in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
In round three, Caroline had defeated # 14 ranked Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. That was a great win. I think we will see great things from Caroline in the future. It may not be long before she is up to # 2 in the world.
