Clijsters Clobbers Williams for Championship at Sony Ericsson Open
Kim Clijsters made it look easy today against Venus Williams and showed no mercy in a match that turned into a massacre. In just 58 minutes, Clijsters was raising her arms in triumph with a 6-2, 6-1 win. Williams didn’t seem to know what hit her.
Clijsters claimed an early break in the third game of the first set to take the lead, and closed out the set at 6-2. Williams struggled to keep the ball in play and won only nine points in the second set. Clijsters won 17 points in a row early in the second set to take a 4-love lead, and then closed it out from there with no trouble at 6-1.
Clijsters Edges Henin in Thriller at Miami
In a clash of the Belgian comeback kids, Kim Clijsters showed that she has come back just a teeny tiny bit more than Justine Henin. It was a 2 1/2 hour, 3-set, 2-tie-breaker battle, with Clijsters prevailing 6-2, 6-7(3), 7-6(6) at the 2010 WTA Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, Florida, USA.

The Belgium comeback kids at at each other’s throats again, each having reached the Semifinals of the 2010 WTA Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, Florida, USA. And as misfortune would have it, they are on the same side of the draw. So Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters line up on opposite sides of the net today to determine which of these two comeback kids will play the winner of the other Semifinal match featuring a surprise in No. 13th seed Marion Bartoli of France against a not-surprising No. 3 seed, Venus Williams of the USA.
