Five of our currently featured cutie pies are playing in the 2008 WTA Dubai Tennis Championship Feb 25 – Mar 2, – Ana Ivanovic, pictured here, Anna Chakvetadze, Maria Kirilenko, Elena Dementieva, and Patty Schnyder.
Ana Ivanovic is seeded 3rd and has a bye in the first round. That is good since she is still recovering from her ankle injury in the Qatar Open just last Thursday.
Anna Chakvetadze is seeded 6th, and Elena is seeded 8th. The other cutie pies are unseeded.
Anna Chakvetadze and Elena Dementieva have won their first round matches. They along with Ana Ivanovic move on to the 2nd round. Maria Kirilenko, lost her 1st round match, as did Patty Schnyder, who strained a hamstring during the 1st set. Hopefully she will be healed and able to play in the next tournament.
