Justine Henin Justine Henin, seven-time Grand Slam champion, and two-time U.S. Open champion, will miss the U.S. Open this year due to a partially torn ligament in her right elbow.

The injury came as the result of a fall in the 1st set of her 4th-round match on Monday against countrywoman Kim Clijsters. Justine went on to win that first set, but Kim won the final two sets. Score: 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Henin said on her website Thursday that the injury will keep her off the tour for about two months. She said she will miss the American hard-court circuit, including the U.S. Open, which she won in 2003 and 2007. The year’s last major tournament begins in New York on Aug. 30.
