Brasil Open Feb. 15

Champion: Tommy Robredo
Finalist: Thomaz Bellucci
Robredo d. Bellucci 6-3 3-6 6-4

Tommy Robredo claims his 8th career singles ATP title with a hard faught victory. Bellucci is a Brazilian so to say Robredo was the underdog could be a bit of an understatement. Thomaz claims to have recovered from his very nervous and slow start with the help of an entire country… however it just wasn’t enough. The last man Brazil was able to successfully cheer onto a hometown title… the great Gustavo Kuerten.

That being said Bellucci is a young 6’2″ lefty that brings a lot of game. Look for him to be a threat some time in the next couple years… but probably never be as well loved as Guga! Is it bad that I want to post a picture of Guga instead of Robredo on this thread? Fine… fine.. ill give the champ the face time he deserves.
Top Players: Nicolas Almagro(1) , Tommy Robredo, Albert Montanes, Jose Acasuso

Underdog Pick: Fabio Fognini Out of the tournament
